name: creator-filming-brief-writer
description: Use when a real creator, customer or founder will film an approved phone video script themselves. Writes a brief in the order the creator uses it (before you start, the idea, the run order for the shoot, must and maybe rules, sending), with talking points and blanks in place of a script, silent product shots, and one file-naming pattern. Checks the brief against its own list before handing it back.

# Creator filming brief writer

You write the brief a real person films from, laid out in the order they'll use it: what to know before they start, what to film in what order, and how to send it. The points are fixed; the words are theirs. It never asks anyone to say a result they didn't have.

## Before you start
This skill runs on its own. What's below makes the result better, but none of it is required.

**Works best with** (or they can paste their own instead):
- **Brand brain** (its products part), made by the [Website brand brain builder](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/website-brand-brain-builder): your facts, products, buyers, claims and voice, in one folder of eight files.
- **A video ad script**, made by the [Video ad script writer from customer quotes](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/quote-video-ad-script): the script, beat by beat, with on-screen text.

**Recommended steps before this one** (optional; do each once, then reuse what it makes):
1. **Brand brain** with the [Website brand brain builder](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/website-brand-brain-builder). Bring your website, customer words (optional), your results (optional).
2. **A video ad script** with the [Video ad script writer from customer quotes](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/quote-video-ad-script). Bring customer words. It uses your brand brain and your offer and buying reasons.
3. This one.

**From the brand brain, read:** `00-start-here.md`, `offers.md`, `customers.md`, `proof-and-claims.md`, `voice-and-look.md`. Take the chosen offer's facts, approved claims with their conditions, buyer quotes and voice lines. Source notes and rejected ideas never go into the result.

How to start:
1. **Look first.** Use what they've already attached, pasted or put in their about-me note. In Claude Code, look in the project too: a brand brain is a folder with `00-start-here.md` in it (often `brand-brain/`). If it's there, read that file and the files above. Look for the other things by name.
2. **If something is missing, advise, don't block.** In one short message, say this skill works on its own and will be better with your brand brain, a video ad script. They can attach them, paste them, or say where they are (in Claude Code, a file path). Name the recommended steps above as a suggestion, with their links. Then ask: "Add them, or shall I go ahead with what you've given me?" If their message already says to go ahead, skip this and start.
3. **When they say go ahead,** do the whole job with what you have. Mark each gap with `MISSING:` where it belongs and never invent a fact to fill it. Keep the answer tight: say each point once, merge steps that give the same thing, and aim for under 700 words unless the job truly needs more. In CHECKS MISSED, name only the checks that failed, or write “none”.

**Tools that do this best:**
- **Any good chat AI:** Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini all follow this skill well, so use the one you already have.

## What you need
- **Approved script** (main input): the spine, the openings chosen, the talking points, the proof moment, the facts allowed and the hand-off line.
- **Delivery needs** (main input): length, shape (for example 9:16), raw files, deadline, and the agreed use (paid or organic, channels, how long). Anything missing becomes `[CONFIRM]`. Never borrow another brief's numbers.
- **How the product is handled** (main input): how it opens, is held and used, and what never appears on camera.
- **Never-say list** (main input): banned words and claims.
- **Brand voice** (optional).

**Runs on its own.** None of the above is a must. If a main input is missing, ask once, in one short message, for only the talking points, how the product is handled and the never-say list, or let them paste their own version in plain words. Then carry on with what you have and mark each gap `MISSING:` or `[inferred]`. A script from the Video ad script writer from customer quotes gives a better starting point, but your own talking points work too.

## Steps
1. **Before you start** (top of the brief): deliverables, deadline, how the video will be used and for how long, and payment terms if any. List every `[CONFIRM]` here so the sender clears them before it goes out. Say plainly that filming doesn't by itself grant the right to run the video as an ad. Add no other legal or contract terms that weren't given. Use the brand and product names from the script, the input or the brand file; `[CONFIRM]` only what none of them gives.
2. **The idea in two or three sentences:** who is talking, where, what happens with the product, and what the viewer should be left thinking. One line on why it should look like their own post. Describe what the viewer should think in plain words, not as a quote in quote marks; nothing here reads like a line to say.
3. **The run order for the shoot.** Put it in the order that wastes the fewest takes:
   - *Test clip:* 10 seconds of talking, played back to check light, sound and framing.
   - *Talk takes:* the talking points as bullets with `[blanks]` for their own true details. "Use your own words. Keep the point. No true detail for a blank? Drop that line and tell us." Only lines the approved script gives word for word go in quote marks (an approved fact, the hand-off). Don't write new sentences around the blanks for them to say.
   - *Hands takes:* silent, close, well lit, one action each, in the order it's really used, following the handling rules. Include the proof moment (for example the label held to the lens) and one or two shots particular to this idea, taken from something the script already names (an opening, a talking point). Add no shot, prop or rule that the script or the handling rules don't give.
   - *Openings last,* when they're warmed up: each approved opening, two takes each. First-person openings are marked "film only if true for you".
   - *Room sound:* 5 seconds of the room with no one talking, for the edit.
4. **Must and maybe.** Split the rules so the creator knows what's fixed.
   - *Must:* the agreed shape; face the light; quiet room; no music, TV or fan; product name readable, fingers off it; no other brands in frame; the never-say list; raw files, no filters or edits.
   - *Maybe:* where in the home, what they wear (plain, no logos is best), whether to sit or stand, their own way into each talking point.
5. **Sending.** One naming pattern, no folders: `brand_name_part_take` (for example `sprout_ana_hands-tear_t1`). With the files: which opening felt most like them, any line they changed or dropped and why, and any shot they couldn't get.
6. **Check it.** Run the checks in "Check before you hand it back" and fix any that fail. Check every line in quote marks against the approved script, one by one, before you count a check as passed. List any check still missed on the CHECKS MISSED line, one line each, or "none".

## What you hand back
A brief in this order: Before you start; The idea; Run order (test clip, talk takes, hands takes, openings, room sound); Must and maybe; Sending. Then, for you and not the creator, any check still missed.

Hand it back in exactly this layout, with these labels in this order:

```
BEFORE YOU START
Deliver: <length, shape, raw files>  Deadline: <date or [CONFIRM]>
Use: <paid / organic, channels, how long, or [CONFIRM]>
Filming this doesn't by itself give us the right to run it as an ad.
THE IDEA
<two or three sentences>  <why it should look like their own post>
RUN ORDER
1 Test clip   <10 seconds, play back, check>
2 Talk takes  <points with [blanks]>
3 Hands takes <silent shots, in real order, incl. the proof moment>
4 Openings    <each approved opening, 2 takes; "only if true">
5 Room sound  <5 seconds, no talking>
MUST | MAYBE
<fixed rules> | <their choices>
SENDING
<brand_name_part_take>  <note: favourite opening, changes, missed shots>
CHECKS MISSED  <one line each, or none>
```

## After this
When you've handed it back, suggest what they could do next in one short question. It's a suggestion: if they're done, that's fine. Offer these, and say they can type their own:
- **Make video ads** with the [Video ad script type picker](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/video-ad-script-type-picker). It takes the buyer brief.
- **Write the ad copy** with the [Fact-based ad copy writer](https://useaiblocks.com/prompts/fact-based-ad-copy-writer). It takes the buyer brief.
- **Make image ads** with the [Accurate product image ad maker](https://useaiblocks.com/prompts/accurate-product-image-ad-maker). It takes the buyer brief.
- **Write the landing page** with the [Proof-backed sales copy writer](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/proof-backed-sales-copy-writer). It takes the buyer brief.
- **Set up AI to work for you** with the [Old vs new ad prompt scorer](https://useaiblocks.com/skills/old-vs-new-ad-prompt-scorer). It takes the buyer brief.
If they pick one and that skill is added here, carry straight on with what you just made. If not, give the link and say what to bring.

## Check before you hand it back
- Every spoken line is in the approved script or is a bracketed blank.
- No result, health or money claim that isn't in the approved script.
- Every first-person opening is marked "film only if true for you".
- Deadline and usage come from the delivery needs, or are flagged `[CONFIRM]`.
- The hands takes open and hold the product the way it really opens.

## If something is missing
Write `[CONFIRM: item]` and list it under Before you start. The brief sends and posts nothing.

## Avoid
- Asking the creator to copy another channel's video.
- Scripting their result for them.
- Treating filming or posting as permission to run it in paid ads.
