What it does
Upscaling means making an image larger, with more pixels, so it stays sharp at a bigger size. Many upscalers now redraw the picture as they enlarge it. That can look great and still smooth a face, change a grip or re-letter your label. If nobody compares the result with the original, those changes go to print. This skill starts by asking what's in the picture. Words, logos and faces get a faithful upscaler, one that enlarges what's there and invents as little as possible. A generative upscaler, which adds new detail, comes second and only at its lowest setting. Your words and logo are put back from the design file or artwork where you have it. When the file comes back, it reads the real pixel size, then runs a difference check: the original laid over the result, so any change shows up bright. A failed try starts again from…
You give it
- The approved image, the original file, attached (your AI can see pictures)
- The size you need and what it's for
- The upscaler you'll use, and which models and settings it has
- How many tries you'll allow (optional; 3 if you don't say)
You get
- The real target size in pixels, worked out from where the image will go
- The kind of upscaler to use and the settings that keep it faithful
- A plan for keeping your words and logo exact
- A size check, a difference check and a review of words, faces, hands, product and texture
- A verdict, either accepted or the original returned with the reason
- A fidelity score out of 100 for each try, from the share of checked areas that match the original
Use it when
- You need a larger version of an approved image for print, a big banner or a high-resolution export.
- You want a sharper first frame to start an AI video from.
- A past upscale changed a face, a hand or your label, and you want to catch it next time.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Attach the approved image and say what it's for, for example "a 24 x 30 inch print banner".
- Name your upscaler and its models. Set the size and settings there, as the skill says.
- Attach the returned file to the same chat for the checks.
- Use the result only if every row passes. Keep the original untouched either way.
Workflows that use it
- Image ad maker with exact text
- Make a cutaway ad that shows how your product works
- Repeat one product photo in new colours as ads
- Make new image ads in the style your winners share
