What it does
Contracts arrive one at a time and get read in a hurry. The renewal trap on page nine, the clause that gives away your work and the notice period that is too long are easy to miss when you are rushed to sign. This agent gives each new contract the same first look. It works out the type and runs the check made for that type: NDA, software subscription, data agreement, AI vendor or other. It compares what it finds with your own rules. It rates the contract green, yellow or red and names the clause that decided the rating. For each worry it drafts a plain question for the other side. It adds the contract to your register with the dates that matter, so renewals do not catch you out. It does not sign, accept or send anything, and it is not legal advice. Check with a qualified lawyer…
You give it
- The full contract, and any attached terms or amendment
- Which side you are on, and the country or state if the contract names one
- Your own rules, such as no automatic renewal or you keep ownership of your work (the first time)
- The price, the length and when you must sign (optional)
- A buyer brief (optional)
You get
- The type, a green, yellow or red rating and the clause that set it
- The clauses to question, in plain words, with what each could cost you
- Draft questions and edit requests for the other side, not sent
- The dates that matter in a register you keep
- A two-minute summary for any yellow or red contract
Use it when
- A new contract, NDA, subscription terms or amendment has arrived and you need a first read.
- You want every contract checked against the same rules, not the mood of the day.
- You lose track of renewal and notice dates.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the agent. In Claude Code, add it as a skill or save it in .claude/agents, then give it the contract.
- The first time, give it your rules. It saves them and uses them every time.
- Read the rating and the clauses to question. Send the questions you agree with yourself.
- Take anything yellow or red to a qualified lawyer, with the agent's notes.
- Run it on every new contract. It keeps the register up to date.
