What it does
Some shoppers find your store through ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. Your analytics shows only part of them. Some AI tools pass no referral data, and others land buyers who then type your name into Google. Those visits show up as direct or branded search. This skill covers both sides. It adds a custom AI channel in GA4 so you can see the visits that do carry a source. It adds a post-purchase question so buyers can tell you where they heard of you. Treat the channel number as an undercount and use it as a trend. The survey is the highest-value part. AI traffic is small in most data, about 0.25% of sessions on average in one 2025 data set, so wait 2 to 3 months before you judge.
You give it
- Access to GA4 or your analytics tool
- Your store platform and access to the order confirmation or thank-you page
- Server or CDN log access (optional)
- Tool connection (optional)
You get
- A custom AI traffic channel with its source rules
- A tracking sheet: AI sessions, orders, revenue and pages hit
- A survey question with answer options and where to place it
- A redirect list for AI-made 404s
Use it when
- You think AI assistants send you buyers and you cannot see them.
- You want to know if AI visitors buy more than organic visitors.
- AI tools send people to pages that no longer exist.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Say which analytics you use and where your orders confirm. Paste any current channel rules.
- Follow the GA4 steps, then add the survey question to checkout or the order page.
- Paste the landing pages that return 404 and get the redirect list.
- Check the sheet at 2 to 3 months, not before.
