What it does
A code change that touches motion gets a strict review and a clear verdict, Approve or Block, so nothing sluggish or jarring ships. The review comes as a table of findings, each with a suggested fix. The skill acts as a picky motion designer. It checks each animation against ten fixed standards from Emil Kowalski's craft rules: easing curves, durations, where an element appears from, whether it can be interrupted, how often it fires, frame drops, and what happens for people who choose reduced motion. It starts from doubt, so a transition that merely works still gets flagged if it feels wrong. It reviews only motion and does not edit your code unless you ask.
You give it
- The code change or files with the motion
- Your animation library or stack (optional)
- Target devices (optional)
You get
- A table of findings with fixes
- An Approve or Block verdict
- Notes on speed, origin and interruption
- Reduced-motion gaps flagged
Use it when
- A pull request changes transitions, modals, drawers or toasts and you want a second opinion.
- An interface feels slow and you cannot say why.
- You want a pass or fail before releasing animated features.
- Your team lacks someone with an eye for motion detail.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can read your project files.
