Arduino sensor library builder
Name a sensor MATLAB lacks. Get a custom Arduino library so you can use it from MATLAB.
Arduino sensor library builder is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
A custom library so MATLAB can use a sensor or part it doesn't support out of the box, such as a DHT22, an OLED screen or NeoPixels. Name the part and you get the link between MATLAB and the Arduino code. The skill does two fast checks first. It runs listArduinoLibraries to see if native support exists, and it searches MathWorks contributions on File Exchange for a ready add-on. If either exists, it stops and tells you. If not, it builds a custom add-on that wraps the Arduino C++ library for MATLAB, using the LibraryBase structure and the arduinoioaddons folder. It does not handle plain I2C or SPI, standalone Arduino code or Simulink.
You give it
- The sensor or part name
- Your Arduino board model
- The existing Arduino C++ library (optional)
- MATLAB and an Arduino to test
You get
- A native support check
- A custom add-on if none exists
- MATLAB functions for the part
- Setup and test steps
Use it when
- You want temperature readings from a DHT22 sensor in MATLAB.
- You need to drive an OLED screen or motor driver from MATLAB.
- You have an Arduino C++ library and want to call it from MATLAB.
- You aren't sure whether MATLAB already supports your part.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB and reach an Arduino board.
