What it does
You find out if a company is worth buying with borrowed money. Give it a company and deal terms, and you get a model showing how debt shrinks over time and what the investors earn at exit, as IRR and MOIC. The work goes in a set order. First, sources and uses show the price and how it is paid for. Then a forecast turns revenue into free cash flow. A debt schedule applies required and optional repayments. Returns follow, and a sensitivity table tests different entry and exit multiples and growth rates. It first asks for the entry multiple, exit multiple, holding period, debt levels, interest rates and capital spending.
You give it
- Company financials and projected EBITDA growth
- Entry price or multiple
- Debt amounts, rates and fees
- Exit multiple and holding period
You get
- A sources and uses table
- A cash flow and debt paydown schedule
- IRR and MOIC
- A sensitivity table on price, exit and growth

- You need to see how much debt a business can carry before it gets risky.
