What it does
A short list of public cancer scans that fit your project, with licences checked and download steps ready. Describe the cancer type, scan type or collection you need, and the skill searches the National Cancer Institute's Imaging Data Commons. It picks the cheapest way to search first: the connected server if you have one, otherwise a local index it can check for freshness. It filters by body part, scan type, collection and clinical data, reads each collection's licence and citation, and then gives you commands to fetch files from public cloud storage. No account is needed for public data. Some options need Google Cloud sign-in.
You give it
- The cancer type, scan type or collection you need
- Any filters such as body part or number of cases
- Disk space and a computer with internet access
- Python to run the search (optional)
You get
- A list of matching public collections and series
- Licence and citation details
- Download commands for the files
- Notes on which access path to use
Use it when
- You need CT or MRI scans of a certain cancer to train or test a model.
- You want to know which collections allow reuse before you build on them.
- You need to cite the data source properly in a paper.
- You have a patient or study ID and want the matching images.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run Python code and download public data.
