What it does
Correct ontology IDs for the lab terms in your data, each one checked against the public lookup service, not written from memory. A well-formed ID can point to the wrong thing and nobody will notice. For example, one real code is the small intestine, not the liver. You give it free-text labels like a tissue, cell type or disease name. The skill searches the EBI ontology lookup service, picks the best match, and confirms the ID and its label. It can also check IDs already in a file to see if they are real and still current, and look up prefixes. Scripts use only the Python standard library, but you need Python 3.11 or later and internet access.
You give it
- Terms or a column of labels
- The ontology to use, such as anatomy or disease (optional)
- An existing file of IDs to audit (optional)
- Python 3.11 or later and internet access
You get
- Matching ontology IDs with labels
- IDs checked against the lookup service
- Flags for wrong or obsolete IDs
- Ontology prefix lookups
Use it when
- You are filling a data submission and need ontology IDs for tissue terms.
- Someone gave you a table of IDs and you do not trust them.
- An old file may use IDs that have since been replaced.
- You need the correct prefix for a given ontology.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can call public web APIs and run code.
