Carbon-13 flux estimator
Give it carbon-13 tracing data. Get estimated metabolic fluxes, fit checks and a profile you can trust.
Carbon-13 flux estimator is a free AI skill for the job "Research a topic properly". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Carbon-13 labelling data turns into estimated reaction rates in a cell, with checks on how well the fit holds. You give a carbon map, tracer mixtures and corrected measurements, and the skill returns a fitted flux set and tells you which fluxes your experiment pins down. A bundled solver does the maths. It simulates how labelled carbon spreads, then fits fluxes within the mass-balanced range. It does not assume a growth goal. Before fitting it asks for evidence: atom assignments, proof of steady state, every carbon input, fragment assignments and a record of natural abundance correction. It covers steady-state experiments only, not time-course labelling. You need Python and your lab data.
You give it
- A carbon network with atom assignments
- Tracer mixtures and carbon input details
- Corrected mass distribution measurements
- Measurement error estimates
- Python to run the solver
You get
- Estimated metabolic fluxes
- Goodness of fit checks
- Which fluxes are well or poorly determined
- A profile of the fit you can inspect
Use it when
- You ran a carbon-13 tracer experiment and need to turn spectra into fluxes.
- You need to know which reactions your tracer design actually measures.
- A fit looks good but you are unsure if it is trustworthy.
- You combine several tracer experiments on one cell state.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run Python code and save files.
