What it does
A real-world problem makes a good reason for teachers in different subjects to plan together. Name the problem and your own subject, and you get a map of which other subjects connect to it and what each can teach. It works out the concepts each subject can bring, where they overlap with required curriculum, and how the pieces fit into one unit. You can add year group, which departments are willing to join, curriculum limits, time available and timetable constraints. The map aims to be realistic for a school day, not a perfect plan that needs a restructure. It draws on research on integrated curriculum and inquiry learning.
You give it
- The real-world problem or issue

- Which other departments can join (optional)
- Time frame and timetable limits (optional)
You get

- Your school wants a cross-curricular unit and you need a starting plan.
- You teach one subject and want to show why it matters to a real issue.
