What it does
Developer documentation that a reader can follow to finish a task, written and checked to the standards of Google's developer style guide. The skill starts with the reader: who they are and what they should be able to do afterwards. It checks every fact against your code before it writes a word. Then it applies the style rules: talk to the reader as "you", use active voice and present tense, put prerequisites before step one, and end each how-to with a check that it worked. It removes words like "simply" and "just". It can also audit existing docs and score them out of ten against a short checklist.
You give it
- Your product, API or draft docs
- The code the docs describe
- Who will read them
- Your own style guide (optional)
- Codebase (optional)
- Source text (optional)
You get
- Clear, task-based documentation
- A fact check against your code

Use it when
- Your README lists features but never says how to get a first result.
- You need to rewrite old docs so they match what the code does today.
- Your team writes docs in different voices and wants one standard.
- You want a score and a fix list for a page before you publish it.
