Drone scenario builder
Describe the terrain, buildings and sensors. Get a drone simulation scene you can fly in MATLAB.
Drone scenario builder is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
A drone simulation you can watch fly. Describe the terrain, buildings and sensors, and you get a UAV scene in MATLAB with a drone that moves through it and reports what its sensors read. The skill uses the UAV Toolbox scenario tools. You set a reference location and update rate, add terrain from elevation data, and add buildings from OpenStreetMap files. Then you place a drone platform on a trajectory and attach GPS and IMU sensors. A loop advances time, updates the sensors and reads their values. At the end, a 3D view plays the flight. Trajectory design, Simulink models and path planning are out of scope.
You give it
- Location and area to simulate
- Terrain and building files (optional)
- The drone's path
- Sensors to attach
You get
- A UAV scenario with terrain and buildings
- A drone platform with sensors
- A simulation loop that returns sensor readings
- A 3D flight animation
Use it when
- You want to test a drone over real terrain and city buildings.
- You need simulated GPS and IMU readings for an algorithm.
- You want a 3D view of a flight for a demo.
- You are setting up a UAV simulator for the first time.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB with UAV Toolbox.
