What it does
Handwriting is rare in a feed and looks like personal effort, so people read it before they decide whether to. Research on handwritten notes backs this up: a short note in someone's own hand gets far more people to act than the same words in print. This picture is a photo of a few handwritten lines: a list on the back of an envelope, a note on the fridge, an old note found in a drawer. The skill starts with who the note was written for, because that sets everything else. A note to yourself is a list or a sum. A note for someone at home is short and hurried. A note from your past self is folded and a little faded, and carries time on its own. It lifts the words from your story and makes the first line the one that names the problem. Then it tells…
You give it
- Your approved story ad, with any note or list the narrator writes
- How your buyer would put it in their own words (optional)
- Whether words on the image are on or off (optional, default on)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- Who the note was for, and the paper and place that follow
- The note's words, line by line, exactly as they'll appear
- A blank version and a short line to run under the image
- How to make it by hand, or an image prompt if you can't
- Any of the skill's six checks it still missed, one line each, or none
Use it when
- Your story has a line the narrator wrote down, such as a list, a sum or a reminder to themselves.
- The problem is something people feel and don't say out loud.
- Your story is about blaming yourself, putting something off or adding up what it cost.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your story ad underneath. The note works best if the story quotes it.
- Write the note on the paper it names, in your own ordinary handwriting, and put it where the brief says.
- Take the photo on your phone in the light it describes, square, a little off-centre.
- If you use the image prompt instead, read every word in the result. One wrong letter gives the game away.
