What it does
Proof that an investor's capital statement matches the fund's books. Give it the generated statement and the period's NAV pack from the fund admin system. The statement is the thing under test and the pack is the source of truth. The skill rebuilds the capital account line by line: beginning capital, plus contributions, minus distributions, plus the investor's share of profit after fees and expenses, minus any carry. It compares each line to the statement within one cent. It also checks that ending capital matches next period's opening, that all investors' ending capitals add up to fund value, and that commitments agree with the register. It reports pass or fail and never edits the statement.
You give it
- The generated investor statement
- The NAV pack for the period
- Prior and next period statements (optional)
- The commitment register (optional)
You get
- A pass or fail result for every line
- Recomputed values beside the statement values
- The input behind each mismatch
- A list of flags for review
Use it when
- Investor statements are about to go out and you need a final check.
- A statement figure looks off and you want to know why.
- You close the quarter and need statements tied to fund value.
- An auditor asks how you verify capital accounts.
