MATLAB test runner
Point it at your tests. Get them run and filtered, with failures, coverage gaps and CI set up.
MATLAB test runner is a free AI skill for the job "Test and fix code". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Your MATLAB tests run, filtered and explained. You get a clear pass and fail count, the reason for each failure, which lines are not covered by tests, and a build file for continuous integration. It runs tests through MATLAB's test tools, with filters for a name, a tag or a folder. After the run it checks the pass and fail counts and reads the diagnostics for each failure. For coverage it sets up the coverage plugin, shows a summary and points at the gaps. For CI it writes a buildfile with a test task and adds a config for GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or GitLab.
You give it
- The folder or files with tests
- A filter by name or tag (optional)
- Your CI service (optional)
- MATLAB release
You get
- Pass and fail results
- Failure reasons
- A coverage summary and gaps
- A build file
- A CI config (optional)
Use it when
- You changed code and need to see which tests now fail.
- You want to know which parts of your code no test touches.
- Your team wants tests to run on every pull request.
- You only want to run one group of tests quickly.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB.
