PLL circuit modeler
Give it a PLL datasheet. Get a working phase-locked loop model with the right solver set.
PLL circuit modeler is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
A working model of a phase-locked loop chip built from its datasheet or your system targets, with the solver set up correctly. You can then check whether the loop locks fast enough and has low enough phase noise. The skill works in Simulink with the Mixed-Signal Blockset. It asks one question at a time, picks between integer-N, fractional-N and dual-modulus designs, extracts parameters from the datasheet and builds the loop from library blocks. A companion guide covers loop filter design, checks against datasheet phase noise, measurement and common mistakes. It needs MATLAB, Simulink and the blockset.
You give it
- The PLL datasheet or system specs
- Output and reference frequencies
- Lock time and phase noise targets
- Answers to its questions, one at a time
You get
- A built Simulink PLL model
- Architecture choice with reasons
- Loop filter design
- Phase noise check against targets
Use it when
- You have a PLL datasheet and want a simulation of it.
- You are designing a synthesizer for a set output and reference frequency.
- You need to check phase noise against the datasheet.
- You are choosing between integer-N and fractional-N.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB with Mixed-Signal Blockset.
