Quality bar setter
Answer a few questions. Get a written quality bar for your project and a watch for anyone lowering it.
Quality bar setter is a free AI skill for the job "Test and fix code". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
A short written quality bar for your project, with real numbers, saved in a file the whole team and any AI agent can check. It ends the argument about what good enough to ship means. It first reads your project to find the language, test runner, linters, coverage and CI, so it never asks what it can see. Then it asks four questions, each with a default, so an answer of I do not know still works. The result sets limits for things like test coverage, speed and accessibility, and says which checks block a merge. It also adds a watch that flags any change that lowers the bar.
You give it
- Access to your project files
- Answers to four short questions
- Existing standards or CI setup (optional)
You get
- Written quality bar with numbers
- List of checks that block a merge
- Floor rules for the minimum standard
- A watch for changes that lower the bar
Use it when
- An AI agent writes more code than you can read and you need guardrails.
- Coverage and speed targets get argued about on every pull request.
- Your CI has checks but nobody knows which ones really block a merge.
- You are starting a project and want standards written down first.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
