Radio transmit and capture helper
Give it a test signal. Get it sent over the air and the received IQ data captured.
Radio transmit and capture helper is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
A test signal sent over the air from a software defined radio, and the received IQ data captured and ready to study. You can run a loopback test, capture a band, or send for a long time. It works with NI USRP radios using MATLAB Wireless Testbench. You pick the signal: a test tone, a standard-style waveform or your own samples. The skill sets sample rate, gain and antennas, then chooses transmit once or continuous, and foreground or background capture. It also helps when samples drop or gain is wrong. You need MATLAB, the Wireless Testbench add-on and a set-up USRP radio. First-time radio setup is a separate task.
You give it
- Test signal or waveform
- Radio model and antenna setup
- Center frequency and sample rate
- MATLAB with Wireless Testbench
You get
- Transmit and capture script
- Captured IQ data
- Gain and sample-rate settings
- Fixes for dropped samples
Use it when
- You want to confirm a radio chain works with a loopback test.
- You need to capture a slice of spectrum as IQ data.
- You are transmitting for hours and capturing in the background.
- Captured data has dropped samples or the wrong gain.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB with Wireless Testbench and a USRP radio.
