React test writer
Share your React app. Get tests for components, linked features and full user tasks that lack coverage.
React test writer is a free AI skill for the job "Test and fix code". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Tests for the parts of your React app that have none: unit tests for components, integration tests, and end-to-end tests for key routes. You also learn where your coverage falls short. A scanner reads your components and writes Jest and React Testing Library test files with the render and interaction cases laid out. A coverage analyser reads your Jest report and shows files under your threshold, such as 80 percent. A third tool scaffolds Playwright tests for each Next.js route. The stubs give you a base to fill with real assertions. You need Python for the scripts and Node for running the tests.
You give it
- Components folder
- Jest coverage report (optional)
- Coverage target
- Node and Python installed
You get
- Jest test files for components
- Playwright end-to-end tests
- Coverage gap list
- Next steps to fill in assertions
Use it when
- Your React app has little test coverage and you need a start.
- You want end-to-end tests for every page route.
- A coverage report is full of numbers and you need the gaps.
- You are about to refactor and need a safety net.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
