What it does
Many Shopify owners buy a testing app, plan a checkout test, and find out later that it cannot run. Since Shopify rebuilt checkout (general rollout in August 2024), apps can no longer inject scripts into checkout to split-test it. On Basic, Shopify and Advanced plans you can test everything before checkout. Checkout tests need Plus. This skill sorts your ideas by what your plan allows. For each one it picks a route: a browser-based tool for front-end changes, or a server-side or theme test for pricing, speed-sensitive and checkout-adjacent work. It lists what to ask every tool about flicker, page weight and the stats engine, and warns about price tests. Tool names and prices change fast, so it gives you questions to ask rather than a ranked list. It is the Shopify version of the general experiment tool picker.
