What it does
Copy is read one line at a time, and a reader leaves the moment a line gives no reason to read the next. The headline gets the first line read, each line gets the next read, and the ask comes last, once the reader has the reasons. This skill splits your copy into its parts and states the job of each: get the reader to the next part. It marks where a reader could stop, adds curiosity at each break, and checks that the opening is true and pulls the reader in even if it isn't about the product. It checks any story is real and the claim is honest, including any weakness that matters. It rewrites the weakest breaks and rereads from the top.
