What it does
If shoppers need four clicks to reach a product, many will not get there. Search engines also crawl deep pages less often. Meanwhile your homepage, which usually has the most links, may feature collections that nobody searches for. This skill plans the paths through your store. It picks a menu style for your range size, puts your best collections near the top of the homepage so link value flows to them, shows sub-collections on their parent pages, and decides whether you need filters. Shopify filter pages do not rank, so it lists which filter values deserve a real collection. It counts clicks to your top 10 collections before and after, so you can see the change.
You give it
- Your collections with search volume, revenue and product counts
- Your current main menu and homepage sections
- Your theme name and how many products you sell (optional)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- A main menu structure with the style explained
- Homepage featured collections in order
- A plan for sub-collection links and breadcrumbs
- A filter decision and the filter values that need their own collection
Use it when
- Your menu has grown messy and top products take three or more clicks to reach.
- You are adding many collections and need to place them.
- Your homepage features collections by taste, not by what people search and buy.
