What it does
When store sales fall, the cause sits in one of three places. Sales equal sessions times conversion rate times average order value. If all three held or rose, sales cannot fall, except through returns. So the first job is to find which of the three moved. Returns come first, because refunds land on the day they are processed and can fake a dip after a big month. This skill works out the percent change in each lever, then follows the one that moved. Fewer sessions send you to paid media: spend cut, CPM up or CPC up, or a campaign type that lost budget. A lower conversion rate sends you to the funnel step that moved. A lower AOV sends you to price mix, bundles and thresholds. Small dips are often noise, and it tells you so. It adds a top-down check for Google and Meta ads. It scores how…
You give it
- Net sales plus shipping for both periods
- Sessions, conversion rate and AOV for both periods
- Ad spend, CPM and CPC for both periods
- Returns processed in each period
- Change history, spend by channel, and last year's numbers for the same dates (optional)
You get
- The percent change in each of the three levers
- Which lever drove the drop and by how much
- A cause chain and the next check for that lever
- A noise call, an act or wait decision, and a score out of 100 with its sum
Use it when
- Your daily or weekly sales dropped and you do not know why.
- Ad partners say the ads are fine but revenue is down.
- You are about to change ads, pages or prices and want to know which lever actually moved first.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the same Shopify report for the good period and the bad period, and your ad spend, CPM and CPC for both.
- Add what changed: ads, page edits, prices, stock-outs, promotions.
- Read which lever moved, then do the one check it names before changing anything.
- Run it again after a week to see whether the lever recovered.
