Throwaway prototype builder
Ask a design question. Get a quick prototype of the logic or the screen that answers it.
Throwaway prototype builder is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Build a rough prototype to answer one question, then delete it. Instead of debating whether a design idea works, you can click through it in minutes. The skill first sorts your question into one of two kinds. If you are asking whether logic or a state model feels right, it makes a single HTML file with buttons and guided walkthroughs that push the logic through its paces and show the full state after each step. If you are asking what a screen should look like, it builds several very different versions on one page that you flip between with a small bar. Both stay in memory, skip polish, and are clearly marked as throwaway.
You give it
- The question you want answered
- Your project, so the prototype sits near the real code
- Any rules or states already decided (optional)
You get
- A single-file logic demo or a multi-version screen
- Visible state after each action
- A one-command way to run it
- A note of what you learned
Use it when
- Your team argues about how a workflow should behave and nobody can picture it.
- You need three different layouts to compare before building one.
- You want to test a rule such as order status changes without touching the real database.
- You want a quick demo for a stakeholder before committing time.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and open a browser.
