AI Blocks › Ship and host your app
Toolbox packager
Give it MATLAB code. Get a published toolbox file, built in checked stages from scope to release.
Toolbox packager is a free AI skill for the job "Ship and host your app". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
A folder of MATLAB code turned into a toolbox file that others can install in one click. Instead of guessing what a clean release needs, you move through checked stages and approve each before the next begins. First it defines the public functions you offer. It then maps dependencies, optionally sets up a MATLAB project, and writes documentation: a readme, function hints, a getting-started guide and examples. Next comes a build plan with code checks, tests and coverage, followed by a readiness check that ends in a go or no-go list. Only then does it build the .mltbx file. It does not compile standalone apps or package a single script.
You give it
- The folder with your MATLAB code
- What the toolbox does and who it is for
- Decisions at each checkpoint
You get
- An interface spec you approve
- A dependency list
- Readme and getting-started docs
- A readiness punch list
- A built .mltbx toolbox file
Use it when
- You want to share your MATLAB code as an installable toolbox.
- Colleagues keep asking for your scripts and you are tired of emailing folders.
- You need to know if your code is ready for release.
- Your toolbox lacks documentation and examples.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB.
