What it does
Narration often explains what the viewer is already looking at. A voice says "he was nervous" over a shot of a man gripping a chair. The line steals the moment from the picture and makes the viewer a listener, not a watcher. This skill runs a stripping test. It splits the script into narration and scene, names the feeling each scene should leave, removes all the narration and reads what is left. If the story still works, most narration was not needed. It sorts each line as telling (it replaces the picture) or counterpoint (it adds something the picture cannot). It cuts or turns telling lines into action, keeps only counterpoint, and rereads the result cold. It also keeps ambiguity that is there on purpose.
You give it
- The full script with narration marked (voice-over or VO)
- What each scene should make the viewer feel (optional)
- The length limit (optional)
You get
- A verdict on every narration line: telling or counterpoint
- A stripped version of the script
- A reason for each cut or kept line
- A final cold read verdict
Use it when
- Your video script has a voice that feels like it is explaining everything.
- A video ad runs long and you need to cut words, not pictures.
- You are not sure whether the narration helps.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the script with narration clearly marked.
- Write the feeling you want for each scene, if you know it.
- Review each verdict and say which cuts you reject.
- Use the stripped script as your next draft.
