What it does

Many people rebuild the same weekly numbers by hand, and each time the definitions shift a little. Last week's "sales" included refunds and this week's does not. A forecast added on top inherits the drift, and a chart pasted into a slide goes stale in a day. The steps fix the numbers first. The report step turns your plain description into metrics with a formula, a grouping, a comparison and a period, builds the workbook, and saves the definition so it reruns the same way. The analysis step then reads the weekly series, splits trend from season, flags spikes and dips, and forecasts with a test on held-back weeks. The dashboard step puts the headline numbers, the trend and the forecast range on one page with filters.

Steps

  1. Recurring KPI report maker: Describe the report you want in plain words. Get the numbers pulled, a workbook, and a saved report to rerun.
  2. Trend and forecast analyst: Give it numbers over time. Get trend, seasons and odd spikes found, plus a forecast table and plain insights.
  3. Dashboard builder: Give it your data and what to track. Get one HTML dashboard with charts, filters and tables you can open and share.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Describe the report in your own words and attach the data. Answer its one or two questions, like which period each run covers.
  4. Tell it how far ahead to forecast and which events to know about.
  5. Open the finished page and check three numbers against your source.
