What it does
Writing a skill is the easy part. The trouble comes later. The skill never fires because its description is vague. It has a typo in the header that other tools reject. Or it carries a command or a leak that nobody noticed until a teammate ran it. The steps catch each of those in order. First it writes the skill with test prompts. It scores the folder and fixes the weak spots. Then it grades the description that decides when your AI picks the skill. You then apply the fixes yourself, because you know what the skill is for. Last it scans the fixed files for risky code and data leaks, and checks they will load in other tools.
You give it
- The job you repeat, what a good result looks like and when it should start
- A sample of the job done well (optional)
- The other skills you already have installed (optional)
You get
- A skill folder with test prompts, ready to add to your AI
- A score with a fix list, in order of value
- A grade for the description, with the skills that block it
- A risk report on code and data leaks
- A list of what stops it loading in other tools, with fixes
Use it when
- You repeat a job and want your AI to do it your way each time.
- You are about to share a skill with a team or post it for others.
- A skill you wrote never seems to fire, or breaks in another tool.
Steps
- Skill writer: Describe the job. Get a new skill with test prompts and a description that makes it trigger well.
- Skill quality tester: Give it a skill. Get its structure checked, scripts run and a score with fixes.
- Skill trigger auditor: Give it your skills. Get a grade for each on when it fires, and which skills block each other.
- Skill safety checker: Give it a skill or bundle before you add it. Get a list of risky code, data leaks and hidden payloads.
- Skill portability checker: Point it at your skill folder. Get a list of mistakes that stop it loading in other AI tools, with fixes.
How to use it
- Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
- Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
- Describe the job in a few lines and say when it should start.
- When it pauses, fix the skill files using the score and the trigger grade. Then tell it to carry on.
- Read the risk report before you share anything.
