Monthly AI skill library review

Point it at your skills folder each month. Get weak, clashing and unsafe skills found, and gaps worth a new skill.

Monthly AI skill library review is a free AI agent for the job "Make your own skills". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does

A folder of skills decays. Two skills end up with near the same job, so neither fires reliably. A skill is edited and quietly breaks. A skill from outside brings a script nobody read. Meanwhile a task you repeat every week still has no skill. This agent audits the whole folder each month. It checks when each skill fires, tests the new and changed ones, and tests every skill at least once a quarter. Anything from outside gets a safety check first. A skill that fails it is marked do not run and is never tested or run. It then looks for tasks worth a new skill. You get one ranked fix list. It never edits, installs or publishes anything on its own.

How to use it

  1. Start a chat with the agent. In Claude Code, add it as a skill or save it in .claude/agents, then ask it to run this month's check.
  2. Point it at the folder where your skills live. Say which came from outside.
  3. Read the hand-back. Anything marked do not run goes first.
  4. Say yes to the fixes you want, or make them yourself. For a skill that failed its test, use the Prompt and skill tuner.
  5. Run it next month. It checks whether the fixes worked.
