Hire an AI debt maturity funding checker

Share debt dates, usable cash, confirmed loans and credit limits. Get a funding schedule, shortfalls and exposure checks.

What you give

  • Confirmed refinancing proceeds, with dates and the lender
  • The minimum cash floor you keep

What you get

  • A maturity ladder with the cash, funding and running shortfall at each date
  • Any maturity left with no confirmed funding
  • A connected exposure bridge, with the total against your limit and the gap or room
  • A note on any refinancing from the same party that also counts as exposure

An example

Several loans fall due in the next year and you want to see which gap comes first.

You ask: “Share debt dates, usable cash, confirmed loans and credit limits. Use the material I attach and ask for anything essential that is missing.”

You get back:

  • outputs/step-1-debt-maturity-funding-ladder.md. Cash and confirmed funding rolled through each maturity, with cumulative shortfalls.
  • outputs/step-2-credit-exposure-limit-checker.md. The connected exposure bridge and the gap or room against the limit.
  • Exceptions list. Each unfunded maturity and each exposure over the limit, with its source.

An example, not your task.

Skills and workflows for this job: Plan funding and ownership

Details

Everything it can hand back

Your task sets the actual outputs. The specialist picks the methods that cover them.

  • A maturity ladder with the cash, funding and running shortfall at each date
  • Any maturity left with no confirmed funding
  • A connected exposure bridge, with the total against your limit and the gap or room
  • A note on any refinancing from the same party that also counts as exposure
  • A list of what is MISSING and which checks were missed

How it does the job well

  • Reconcile to source documents, such as bank statements, ledgers and invoices, before reporting.
  • Show the calculation, inputs and period for every figure.
  • Label actuals, estimates and forecasts clearly.
  • Send tax, legal and regulatory questions to a qualified professional.

Mistakes it avoids

  • Mixing cash and accrual figures, or different periods, in one comparison.
  • Rounding or formula errors that do not tie back to totals.
  • Giving personal investment advice.

What a good result looks like

An example, not your task: Several loans fall due in the next year and you want to see which gap comes first.

  • outputs/step-1-debt-maturity-funding-ladder.md. Cash and confirmed funding rolled through each maturity, with cumulative shortfalls.
  • outputs/step-2-credit-exposure-limit-checker.md. The connected exposure bridge and the gap or room against the limit.
  • Exceptions list. Each unfunded maturity and each exposure over the limit, with its source.
  • HAND-BACK SUMMARY. Files saved, sources used, MISSING lines, checks missed and one suggested next step.

How the work is checked

  • Only confirmed proceeds fund a maturity. Unused exposure limit is not cash and not loan approval. Funding and monitoring limits stay separate.
  • Each material input traces to its source, date, currency, scale, sign and period. Unresolved items stay as MISSING: lines.
  • Each ladder row ties to the one before it: the opening position plus cash and funding in, less maturities, equals the closing position. The shortfall is measured against the floor.
  • The exposure total uses the approved conversion factor from the written limit policy, and the limit has a date.
  • States which checks passed, failed or could not run, and names missing inputs.

These checks have not been run against a model yet. Your AI uses them to check its own work.

Capabilities

  • Debt maturity funding ladder. Rolls accessible cash and confirmed funding through each contractual maturity. Leaves every unfunded maturity in view. Hands step 2 any refinancing from the same party, with its amount and date, as an observation.
  • Credit exposure limit checker. Adds funded exposure, undrawn commitments at your approved factor and other connected exposure. Compares the total with the monitoring limit. Never counts unused limit room as funding in step 1.

How the role works

  1. Checks your task, context and available tools.
  2. Picks the methods needed and prepares a work plan.
  3. Carries out supported tasks, with each method's limits and review gates.
  4. Checks the real deliverables and corrects supported faults.
  5. Hands back files, evidence and unresolved gaps.

Inputs and helpful context

The specialist starts from the task brief. Only active methods require their inputs.

For the primary method, when used

  • The contractual maturity dates and amounts, in three dated buckets
  • Accessible opening cash and the cash expected after operations
  • Confirmed refinancing proceeds, with dates and the lender
  • The minimum cash floor you keep
  • Funded exposure, undrawn commitments and exposure to connected parties
  • The approved conversion factor for undrawn commitments and your dated exposure limit

Helpful context (optional)

  • Signed facility letters for each refinancing you count.
  • The written exposure limit policy.

Tools and access

  • A chat AI with a spreadsheet tool: It can build the ladder and reopen the workbook. In plain chat you get the tables as text.
  • Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini: Any of them can do these sums in a chat and show each step.
  • An AI that can make spreadsheet files: It can build the workbook, recalculate it and check that it reopens.
  • Node.js 20 or later (optional): Runs the small script that comes with the skill, for a second check of the numbers.
  • Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini: Any of them can do these sums in a chat.

    • A list of missing facts and checks that could not run
    • A small workbook with the same sums, if your AI can make files

    • Total group exposure
    • Headroom under the limit, or the excess over it
    • A check that the parts add up to the total
    • A list of missing facts, scope gaps and checks it could not run
    • A small workbook with the same sums, if your AI can make files

    • A tie between your result and the funding statement.
    • An editable workbook, if you ask for one.

    • One me.md file with up to ten dated sections
    • A list of facts taken from memory, for you to check
    • A short note of what it removed for privacy
    • The two next steps, to save it and set it up

Tasks you can use it for

  • Several loans fall due in the next year and you want to see which gap comes first.
  • A refinancing is not signed yet and you need to know how short you are without it.
  • You lend to one borrower or group and want total exposure, including undrawn lines.
  • A credit committee asks for a maturity and limit exceptions pack.

Limits to check before starting

  • You only need the order of cash payments and receipts by date: use the Payment timing cash balance planner.
  • You want a plan to restructure debt you cannot pay: use the Debt restructuring plan drafter.
  • You check one loan's cash sweep: use the Excess cash debt payment checker.
  • You want approval to lend: this is a check, not a credit decision. Approval stays with your committee.

Best way to use this role

Give it one clear outcome, the actual files and a definition of done. Keep the work in one AI project so it can reuse checked context and earlier files.

  • Download the workflow pack and add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, in a chat that accepts files.
  • Attach the maturity schedule, the cash forecast, the facility letters and your limit policy. Give the reporting date and currency.
  • Ask your AI to follow the pack, save a file for each step and stop a step when an input is missing.
  • After step 1, check that every funding line in the ladder is confirmed in writing. Remove any that is only hoped for.
  • After step 2, check the conversion factor and limit against the approved policy before the pack goes to committee. A spreadsheet tool is needed for the workbook. Without one, your AI gives the tables in chat.
