What it does
A lesson you already wrote can be checked for barriers, with the fixes that matter most listed first. It keeps your learning goal and works within limits you cannot change. The skill reads your plan against the three Universal Design for Learning ideas: how information is shown, how students respond, and what keeps them engaged. It looks for choices that quietly shut some learners out, such as a text-only source or a single way to show understanding. For each barrier it offers a specific swap. It also names what the lesson already does well and what it will leave alone. You get a short list of the changes with the biggest effect, not a rewrite of the whole plan.
You give it
- The lesson or unit plan
- The learning goal
- Class size and age group
- Things you cannot change, such as time or room (optional)
You get
- A barrier check across the three UDL principles
- Fixes ranked by impact
- Things the lesson already does well
- Notes on what to leave alone
Use it when
