What it does
Most new-ad tests fail for money reasons, not creative reasons. The ad gets cut after a day, or the budget is sized to Meta's advice of 50 sales in 7 days. At a $100 cost per sale that is about $714 a day for one test, which almost no store can afford. This skill sizes the test from your own numbers. It takes the sales you need to call a result, multiplies by what a sale costs you, and divides by the days you will wait. It also gives you a spend limit before you judge (3 times your target cost per sale, or 5 times if you want a clean yes or no), how long to read the results, and what to do with a winner and a loser. If your order value is high and orders are few, it adds ways to get more signal.
You give it
- Your target cost per sale (or break-even cost per sale)
- How many sales you need before you call a result
- How many days you can wait
- Average order value, orders a week and monthly ad budget (optional)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- A total test budget and a daily budget, with the sum shown
- A keep, wait or cut rule at each spend checkpoint
- A read window and notes on day-of-week swings
- What to do with a winner and with a loser
- For high order values, a plan using cheaper signals and a rule for which ads move to paid
Use it when
- You are about to launch a batch of new ads and do not know what to spend before judging them.
- Someone told you to wait for 50 sales in 7 days and that number is far too big for your budget.
- Your product costs hundreds of dollars and you only see a few sales a week, so tests never seem to finish.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Give it your target cost per sale. If you do not have one, run a break-even calculation first.
- Say how many sales you need to call a test and how many days you have.
- Add your average order value and orders a week, so it can say if your store has enough signal.
- Use the checkpoints during the test and write down the result.
