What it does
A clear view of where your AI app's tokens go, and a list of changes that cut the bill without hurting quality. The aim is often 40 to 80 percent less, and you measure first so you know which change worked. Changes come in order of payoff. Routing sends easy tasks like tagging and short answers to a small cheap model and keeps big models for hard reasoning. Caching reuses the repeated parts of prompts, such as system text and examples; aim for a hit rate above 40 or 60 percent depending on the app. Prompts are trimmed. Logging per request shows which features cost most. You set a quality floor and check after each step that it still holds.
You give it
- Which models and providers you use
- Monthly spend and the busiest features
- Sample prompts and rough token counts
- A quality floor and any speed limits
You get
- A map of where cost comes from
- A ranked list of savings
- A model routing plan
- A caching plan with target hit rates
- A way to track cost per request
Use it when
- Your AI bill climbed and you do not know which feature is causing it.
- Most of your requests are simple but all go to the biggest model.
- You repeat the same long instructions on every call.
- You need to hit a monthly budget without making answers worse.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
