Bluetooth device connector
Name a Bluetooth Low Energy device. Get it scanned, connected and its data read or written.
Bluetooth device connector is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Find a Bluetooth Low Energy device near you, connect to it from MATLAB, and read, write or subscribe to its data. This is the setup step for anything that needs live sensor or wearable data. The skill scans with filters instead of listing every device nearby, then connects and walks the device's services to find the right characteristic. It uses the correct function signatures, so you avoid made-up calls. You can read a value, write one, or subscribe to notifications for a stream such as heart rate or acceleration. BLE support is built into MATLAB, so no extra toolbox is needed. It does not cover Bluetooth Classic or acting as a peripheral.
You give it
- The device name or address
- The service or characteristic you need (optional)
- Whether to read, write or subscribe
- A bluetooth-capable computer with MATLAB
You get
- A scan result narrowed to your device
- A live connection to the device
- Read, write or notification code that works
- Data flowing into MATLAB
Use it when
- You want to read a heart rate or motion sensor into MATLAB.
- You need to scan for a nearby BLE device by name or address.
- You must write a value to a device characteristic.
- You want to stream data from a wearable using notifications.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB and reach a Bluetooth device.
