What it does
Narrow a fuzzy brand idea down to one direction you can brief a designer on. You finish with a positioning, a short list of name finalists, mood directions and a story shape. The work runs in four stages, spreading out first and then focusing. First it makes three to five positioning territories and names what each rejects. Then you pick one or two. Next come 30 to 50 name candidates across several approaches, cut to eight to twelve that pass a six-point check. After that it makes two to four mood directions and two to three story shapes, then helps you choose.
