What it does
Two guides that take a new engineer from day one to deep knowledge of your codebase. One is for senior people who need the reasons behind choices; the other is for those who need to get started now. It detects your main language from build files, then writes both guides with examples in that language. The senior guide covers design principles, an architecture map with a diagram, key abstractions, a log of big decisions and trade-offs, and dependencies. The starter guide covers setup, where things live and first tasks. Together they let a newcomer work out who owns what and why it was built that way.
You give it
- Your repository
- Your audience level (optional)
- Notes on past decisions (optional)
You get
- A senior-level onboarding guide
- A getting-started guide
- An architecture diagram
- A log of key decisions
Use it when
- A new hire starts Monday and your docs are thin.
- Only one person understands how the system fits together.
- You are open-sourcing a project and need contributor guides.
- Your team keeps answering the same setup questions.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can read your project files.
