What it does
A guided walkthrough of your code, saved as a tour file that opens inside VS Code and jumps to real files and lines. Each tour is written for one person, so it tells them what matters and what to do next. It first explores the repo: structure, README, config and entry points, so every link is real. Then it works out who the tour is for, such as a new hire, a contributor, a security reviewer or someone chasing a bug. It writes a story of steps with file and line anchors. Tours go in a .tours folder and need the CodeTour extension to play. It never edits your source.
You give it
- Your repository
- Who the tour is for
- What it should cover (optional)
You get
- A tour file in the .tours folder
- Steps linked to real files and lines
- A story suited to the reader
- Next-step pointers at the end
Use it when
- A new teammate needs a guided first look at the code.
- You want a tour of what changed in a pull request.
- You are explaining a bug's path to a colleague.
- You need a contributor walkthrough for an open project.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
