What it does
The coupon or form is the last thing a reader sees before they reply. If it only says 'name, address, send', it has stopped selling at the moment it matters most. This skill checks the form against a list of ten rules. A good one restates the offer, says what the person gets before what they must do, gives a reason to reply now, lists the benefits, offers a choice, and is easy to fill in. It also sets the fields to match your goal. To raise replies, it asks for as little as possible. To cut weak replies, it adds a question or two.
You give it
- Your current coupon or form text and fields
- The offer with its exact terms
- Whether you want more replies or better ones
You get
- A rewritten coupon or form
- A field table: keep, drop or add, with the reason
- A code to place on it for tracking
- A list of rules it passed and failed
Use it when
- Your form is a bare box with a button.
- People start the form and do not finish it.
- You get replies with missing or useless details.
