What it does
A plan for shipping a risky change behind a switch, ramping it up in safe steps, and removing the switch once it is done. Old flags are tidied up, not left to rot. The skill sorts each flag into a type, such as release, experiment, ops or permission, because each type has a different life span and owner. It plans the ramp by population and days, for example by rings or by percent. It checks every flag has a working kill switch and a clean-up date. Three Python scripts scan a repo for stale flags, plan the rollout and audit kill switches. It also helps you compare providers like LaunchDarkly, GrowthBook, Statsig, Unleash and Flipt.
You give it
- The feature you are shipping
- User numbers and rollout time
- Your codebase for a flag scan (optional)
- The flag tool you use (optional)
You get
- Flag type and owner
- A step-by-step rollout plan
- A kill switch check
- A stale flag report
- A clean-up date
Use it when
- You are about to release a large change and want a way to turn it off fast.
- Your codebase has dozens of old flags nobody dares remove.
- You need to pick a flag tool for your team.
- You want a gradual rollout to 100% over two weeks.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
