What it does
A press release written before you build is a test. If you cannot say in plain words why a customer would care, the product is not ready. Writing for the customer also cuts features that exist only because a rival has them. This skill writes the release the way a customer would read it. It leads with the benefit, tells the problem in the customer's terms and adds a quote from a customer and one from the team. It gives the price and how to start. Where the release says something you cannot yet prove, it adds a MISSING note, so the weak spots show up while changing them is cheap.
