What it does
MATLAB cannot see your GPU, and this finds out why. It checks whether a compatible GPU is available, tests that it works, and points at what is broken when it does not. It relies on MATLAB's own checks, including canUseGPU, which also covers licence and toolbox state, and only uses nvidia-smi for facts MATLAB cannot give. In a multi-GPU machine it helps you pick the right one. If a driver update is the fix, it checks the driver policy on the GPU requirements page for your MATLAB release. It sets up and diagnoses only. It does not write or speed up GPU code.
