What it does
A chart in MATLAB that fits the question your data answers, with labels, layout and colours done. Describe the chart you want and get working code for lines, bars, heatmaps, surfaces and more. The skill first sorts your request by what you want to say: a trend, a comparison, a share of a whole, a relationship or a surface. It then picks the plotting function that fits. Bigger ones get a short plan first, listing the context, the chosen function and key choices, so you can approve it. It avoids known traps, such as MATLAB's waterfall plot being a 3D surface and not a financial waterfall.
You give it
- Your data or its column names
- The point the chart should make
- Where it will be shown
- Style needs (optional)
- Spreadsheet (optional)
You get
- Working MATLAB plotting code
- A short plan for complex charts
- Labels, titles and legends
- Layout code for multiple charts
Use it when
- You have a data table and do not know which chart suits it.
- You need a correlation heatmap with clear labels for a paper.
- Your plot looks cluttered and you want a tidy multi-chart layout.
- You want a financial waterfall chart and keep getting a 3D plot.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB.
