What it does
Instrument output files turned into a format your lab systems accept. Give it files from a plate reader, cell counter or similar device. The skill detects the instrument type, reads the file with the allotropy library, and writes Allotrope Simple Model JSON, a flat CSV with one row per measurement, or both. It keeps raw readings apart from calculated values, and links every calculated value back to its source data so results stay traceable. If a field is unclear, such as whether a number is a setting or a reading, it asks you instead of guessing. It can also write the Python parser code for your data engineers. You need Python and a few packages installed.
You give it
- Instrument output files
- The instrument or vendor name (optional)
- Whether you want JSON, CSV or both
- Your company's schema notes (optional)
You get
- Allotrope JSON files
- A flat CSV of measurements
- Parser code for handoff
- A short summary of what was converted
Use it when
- Your LIMS only accepts Allotrope JSON and your instrument exports CSV.
- You want a flat table of instrument results to open in Excel.
- A data engineer needs parser code to repeat the conversion on every run.
- You need calculated values to stay traceable to the raw data.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code.
