What it does
A favourite at the track wins most often and is still a poor bet, because the crowd has already priced it. Businesses, deals and plans work the same way. Being likely to win is not enough. The odds must be better than the price says. This skill tests that for each bet. It reads the price as a chance, asks you for a range for your own view, and multiplies chance by payoff at the low, middle and high estimate. It asks what gives you an edge over the crowd, and calls anything without one no bet. It expects very few near cinches and tells you if you are calling too many. It gives no buy or sell calls on any named security.
You give it
- The bets you are weighing, with cost and payoff
- The price or odds, if there are any (optional)
- Why you think you know better (optional)
You get
- What the price says about the crowd's chance
- Your range, with the facts behind it
- The payoff sum at low, middle and high
- Each bet called near cinch, fair bet or no bet, with what would change it
Use it when
- You have several ideas and no clear way to tell which is worth backing.
- A bet feels very likely but you cannot say why the price is wrong.
- You keep acting on small edges and want a stricter bar.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- List each bet with what goes in, what it pays and what you lose if it fails.
- Give the price if you have one. If not, say what the crowd seems to believe.
- Give a low, middle and high chance for your own view.
- Read the calls, then move your near cinches to the "Twenty-punch bet ranker".
