What it does
A choice of design for a team of AI agents, with the trade-offs laid out so you pick the one that fits your job. It also tells you when one agent is enough. The main point is that extra agents are for splitting up the context, not for playing office roles. The skill compares three patterns: a supervisor who directs workers, a swarm that hands work sideways, and layers of managers. For each it names where it breaks: bottlenecks, drift between agents and errors that spread. It adds ways to get agreement without flattery, then recommends one design with a handoff protocol.
You give it
- A description of the job
- The tools each part needs
- Size of the inputs, such as documents or code
- Speed and cost limits (optional)
You get
- A recommended pattern with reasons
- A comparison of all three
- A handoff design
- Failure risks and fixes
Use it when
- One agent runs out of room and loses track of earlier work.
- Your job splits into parts that need different tools.
- You are deciding between a supervisor and a swarm.
- Your multi-agent test produced duplicate work and confusion.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
