What it does
Most weak memos are not badly written. They are written too fast, or they hide the ask. A reader can feel the difference, but few writers can say what it is. This skill reads the memo the way a busy colleague would. It first states the ask in one sentence. If it cannot, that is the first problem. It then checks six things, each worth points: a clear ask, full sentences, proof for claims, risks and a fallback, a first page that works alone, and fit to six pages. The score says how many of the six it met. It lists the three fixes that would add the most.
You give it
- The memo, as full text
- The meeting and the decision (optional)
- Who will read it (optional)
You get
- The ask, in one sentence, as a cold reader sees it
- A score out of 100 and how it was worked out
- Each weak spot with the line it came from
- The three fixes that matter most
- A second score after the fixes
Use it when
- Your memo is due and you want a cold read before the meeting.
- A memo keeps getting questions the writer thought were answered.
- You want to teach your team what a clear memo looks like.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the full memo.
- Say who decides and by when, if it is not in the memo.
- Read the cold ask first. If it is wrong, the memo is unclear.
- Make the three fixes and run it again.
