What it does
A fast answer to the question: can we do this with customer data, or does it need a full privacy review? You describe the new use, and the skill sorts it into one of four outcomes. The outcomes are proceed, privacy impact assessment needed, mandatory data protection impact assessment, or stop. It first checks your own triggers for review. If GDPR applies to you, it checks the legal tests that make an assessment mandatory. It also checks the plan against your published privacy policy to catch a clash. You get the reasoning, plus a table of conditions if any apply. It can then start the full assessment. It supports a privacy team and is not legal advice.
You give it
- A description of the new data use
- Your privacy practice setup
- What data is involved and whose (optional)
- Where your customers are (optional)
You get
- A proceed, assessment or stop call
- The reasoning behind it
- Conditions to meet
- A handoff into a full assessment
Use it when
- Product wants to use browsing data to personalise recommendations.
- Marketing asks to share customer emails with a new tool.
- You need to decide quickly if an idea can go ahead.
- You want a record of why a project did or did not need a review.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can read your saved privacy setup notes.
- Where the skill points to /privacy-legal:cold-start-interview, use the setup-interview folder inside it. We copied it in so the skill works on its own.
