OFDM system builder
Describe your OFDM link. Get a correct simulation using the proper modulation functions.
OFDM system builder is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
MATLAB code for a custom OFDM link that gives correct results, not just plausible ones. Standard shortcuts in MATLAB quietly break OFDM simulations, and this skill is built to avoid them. Before writing anything it asks about FFT size, cyclic prefix, subcarrier layout, channel type, pilots, coding and synchronisation. Then it follows firm rules. It uses the built-in OFDM modulate and demodulate functions rather than raw FFT calls. It sets the symbol offset by hand. It gives the noise function an explicit signal power, because the modulator output is not one watt. It uses the dedicated channel response function, and it shows how each parameter was worked out. It also checks that your MATLAB release supports the functions used.
You give it
- FFT size, cyclic prefix and subcarrier plan, or the specs to derive them
- Channel model: noise only or fading
- Whether you need pilots, coding or synchronisation
- Your MATLAB release (optional)
You get
- A working OFDM simulation script
- Parameter calculations shown with comments
- Correct noise and channel handling
- A list of questions if your brief has gaps
Use it when
- You are building a custom OFDM transmitter and receiver and your bit error rate looks wrong.
- You need to add noise at a chosen signal-to-noise ratio without getting the power wrong.
- You want to equalise a fading channel using pilots.
- You have physical specs and need the FFT size and prefix length worked out.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run MATLAB with Communications Toolbox.
