AI Blocks › Plan stock, shipping and suppliers
Optimization model builder
Describe a choice with limits, like budget or capacity. Get a working model and the best answer it finds.
Optimization model builder is a free AI skill for the job "Plan stock, shipping and suppliers". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Turn a decision with limits into a working model and the best answer it can find. Think of picking production amounts, routes or stock levels within a budget or capacity. The skill asks what you decide, what to minimise or maximise, which limits are firm, how big the problem is and what data you trust. It then picks the right type, such as linear, integer or network flow, and writes Python code, mostly with open-source solvers. You can change the numbers and rerun it. It checks the answer against your limits and says in plain words which constraints hold the result back. Written with supply chain in mind.
You give it
- The decision you need to make
- What to minimise or maximise
- Your limits, such as budget or capacity
- The data tables
- Solver access (optional)
You get
- A formal model of your problem
- Runnable Python code
- The best solution found
- Notes on which limits bind
Use it when
- You must split limited capacity across products to earn the most.
- You want the cheapest shipping plan across several warehouses.
- You have a budget cap and many ways to spend it.
- Spreadsheet trial and error is no longer good enough.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code (Python).
